"Pave the Way"

I have had the pleasure of quilting several “Pave the Way” quilts since the pattern was first featured in the  Spring/Summer 2011 issue of Quilt Sampler magazine.  The pattern was created by Karen Gray of Karen Gray Design .  I can see why it continues to be a favorite of many.   It is a great beginner quilt and continues to be a top pick for the seasoned quilter as well.  Don't worry if you did not pick up your copy of the magazine when it was first released, Karen still has the back issue available at  fabricpalooza .  Copies are also available at The Little General Fabric Boutique  .

Like many longarm quilters I struggle with the decision- "what design to quilt on a quilt".   One of the things I have loved about quilting Pave the Way is the quilt lends itself to most any design.  Swirls to give texture, straight lines to define geometry, wiggly lines for a contemporary look,  or flowers to give it more whimsy.  This is a great pattern.   I am looking forward to seeing what new patterns emerge from Karen’s studio in the near future.
